Open positions PhD
We are looking for two motivated PhD candidates to work on video understanding; specifically, understanding the style in movies from the audience or the cinematographic perspective.
- The candidates would start the PhD between March and October 2023.
- Ideally, we would start with a Masters internship before the beginning of the PhD to see a good fit (March-August 2023).
1. PhD on time in movies
The first candidate will work on Movie Question answering, see more details here. The PhD will be co-supervised by Vicky Kalogeiton and Ivan Laptev from ENS, Inria Paris.

2. PhD on movie understanding and cinematography
The second candidate will work on exploring the cinematographic style in movies. The PhD will be co-supervised by Vicky Kalogeiton and Marc Christie from IRISA, Inria Rennes. Partially remote PhD will be considered.
